What our field crews execute on-site
Crews arrive with calibrated instrumentation, certified technicians and a documented work plan. When an intervention requires shop conditions — vacuum impregnation, heavy machining — we transfer the part to Tlajomulco; the rest is executed in-situ with the same ISO 9001:2015 traceability.
- Laser shaft alignment of couplings under ISO 21940 with documented reports
- Dynamic balancing on rotors that cannot be moved to the shop
- Cryogenic cleaning of turbines and windings without full disassembly
- Rotor extraction and insertion with cranes up to 60 tons at the client site
- Commissioning and grid synchronization under IEEE 115 in-situ
- Major maintenance executed on-site when shop transfer is not viable
- Electrical testing on-site: hipot AC/DC, megger, polarization index, power factor
- Partial discharge testing on-site with calibrated portable equipment
- Borescope inspection of cores and air gap without full disassembly
- Priority emergency response coordinated with the operator on critical assets
When to apply it
Scenarios where field service beats shop transfer
Emergency managers, plant maintenance leads and oil & gas operators rely on field service when downtime cost exceeds the premium of on-site execution — or when transport logistics themselves are the bottleneck. We size the crew, the equipment and the schedule to the asset and the outage window.
- Generator failure on a critical asset where every hour of downtime costs revenue
- Plant maintenance window too short for shop transfer and return
- Heavy offshore or remote site where transport logistics outweigh shop benefits
- Diagnostic before committing to a major outage — borescope plus electrical tests
- Acceptance and commissioning of a newly installed or rehabilitated unit
- Periodic preventive maintenance under contract — annual or biannual on-site
Standards and certifications
Standards we apply on every field intervention
Instrumentation is calibrated under ISO 17025 traceability, tests are executed under current IEEE and IEC standards, and every intervention is documented under ISO 9001:2015. The client receives a signed acceptance protocol with raw data for independent verification.
- IEEE 95-2002 — Insulation testing of generators with HV direct current
- IEEE 115 — Test procedures for synchronous machines
- IEEE 56 — Recommended practice for stator core testing
- IEC 60034-27-2 — On-line partial discharge measurements on stator windings
- ISO 21940 — Mechanical vibration: rotor balancing
- ISO 10816 — Mechanical vibration evaluation of machine vibration
- ISO 9001:2015 — Quality management system
- CFE LAPEM W4200-12 — Generators 1 to 100 MVA

Frequently asked questions — Field services on-site
Preguntas que recibimos con frecuencia. ¿No encuentras la tuya? Escríbenos a ventas@temisa.mx.
What does field service mean for industrial generators and motors?
Field service is the execution of maintenance, electrical testing, commissioning or in-situ repairs at the client's facility without moving the equipment to a shop. It covers alignment, balancing, electrical tests, borescope inspection and minor repairs. Interventions that require vacuum impregnation or heavy machining are transferred to the Tlajomulco workshop — the rest is executed in-situ with the same ISO 9001:2015 traceability.
Which Mexican states do you cover for on-site service?
Documented operational coverage in Jalisco (headquarters), State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Michoacan, Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Sonora, Chihuahua, Veracruz, Mexico City, Tamaulipas, Coahuila, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi and Baja California, among others. For Central America we have documented projects across the region. Additional coverage is available under commercial request.
How fast can you mobilize a field crew for an emergency?
Priority response on critical assets coordinated with the operator. Technical duty is active year-round and dispatch is coordinated by WhatsApp or phone. Mobilization to Central America depends on customs and flight availability for the specific country.
What work can you complete on-site without shop transfer?
Preventive and predictive maintenance, laser shaft alignment, dynamic balancing in-situ, electrical testing (hipot AC/DC, megger, polarization index, power factor), partial discharge measurement, borescope inspection of the core, cryogenic cleaning, bearing and AVR replacement, commissioning and grid synchronization. Work that requires shop conditions: full stator rewind, heavy shaft machining and vacuum impregnation.
Do you coordinate grid dispatch windows with CFE or CENACE?
Yes. For assets under dispatch we coordinate the outage and return windows with CFE and CENACE. The coordination is part of the field service schedule and is closed with the client at quotation stage to prevent deviation penalties.
