What the field record documents

A 2022 report for a Stamford LVSI 804 R2 documents unsoldered connections on three diodes, replacement of the set of six diodes and varistors, and checks on the replacements. The same report records generator operation under load after the intervention.

The operation under load belongs to that service. It does not establish that the recommended cleaning maintenance was completed or confirm the generator's current condition.

Distinguish the findings from the work performed

Photographs of connections and removed components accompany the rectifier-system findings. The intervention documented replacement and verification of the new components; this sequence shows what was found and what was changed.

Close with the verification that was actually performed

The report includes an operational check under load after the replacement. This adds evidence beyond testing an individual component. The recorded conditions and readings belong to the serviced machine and should remain part of its history.

The result does not cancel other outstanding work

Visible winding contamination led to recommendations for cleaning and review of auxiliary conditions. When returning to the asset, confirm which recommendations were addressed and which remain open, distinguishing a specific repair from overall generator maintenance.

Information to assess your equipment

  • Generator model and excitation-system configuration.
  • Symptoms, alarms and the date of the last operation under load.
  • Tests performed and photographs of connections and components.
  • Cleaning history, installed replacement parts and intervention window.
