Wind Turbine Generator Repair in Mexico

Diagnostics, repair and rewinding of the electrical generator of DFIG, PMG and synchronous wind turbines, on-site and in-shop. TEMISA services the generator, not the blades or the gearbox.

Who repairs wind turbine generators in Mexico?

TEMISA Power Gen services the electrical generator of wind turbines in Mexico: diagnostics, predictive maintenance, repair and rewinding of DFIG, PMG and synchronous generators, on-site and in-shop. The scope is the generator — stator, rotor, slip rings, excitation and windings — not the blades, the gearbox or the turbine control system.

Scope

What does the generator service include?

What we service

  • Stator: windings, insulation and magnetic core
  • Rotor: wound rotor of DFIG generators and rotor of synchronous generators
  • Slip rings, brush holders and brushes
  • Excitation system of the generator
  • Electrical testing and diagnostics of the generator
  • Repair and rewinding at our workshop in Tlajomulco, Jalisco

What we do not service

  • Blades and hub
  • Gearbox and main shaft
  • Nacelle, yaw and pitch systems
  • Turbine control and SCADA
  • Power converter
  • Full wind farm operation and maintenance (O&M)

The step-up transformer is serviced by TEVKO, the transformer and substation division of the group.

On-site diagnostics

What is done at the wind farm and what at the workshop?

Service starts with what can be checked without removing the generator. What is done at the wind farm depends on access: nacelle entry, personnel qualifications and lifting are agreed with the operator on each project.

WhereWhat is done
On-site, at the wind farmInspection, electrical tests and slip-ring and brush service, when access to the generator allows it.
In-shop, Tlajomulco, JaliscoDisassembly, detailed inspection, repair, stator or rotor rewinding, and final electrical tests.

FAQ

FAQ — wind turbine generator repair

Questions we often receive. Can't find yours? Email us at ventas@temisapowergen.mx.

Does TEMISA maintain the complete wind turbine?

No. TEMISA Power Gen services one part of the wind turbine: the electrical generator. We diagnose, repair and rewind the stator, rotor, slip rings, excitation system and windings. Blades, gearbox, nacelle, control and converter are handled by the turbine manufacturer or the wind farm operator.

Which wind turbine generator types do you service?

Doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG), permanent magnet generators (PMG) and synchronous generators. On a DFIG the work concentrates on the wound rotor, slip rings and brushes. On a PMG, on the stator and its electrical tests; work on the magnet rotor is evaluated project by project, depending on the generator design.

Is the generator serviced at the wind farm or at the workshop?

Both. On-site we carry out inspection, electrical tests and slip-ring and brush service when access to the generator allows it. Nacelle access, personnel qualifications and lifting are validated with the operator on each project. Rewinding and major repair are done at our workshop in Tlajomulco, Jalisco, Mexico.

Which turbine and generator brands do you service?

The generator installed in Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, Acciona Nordex and GE Vernova wind turbines, and Indar, ABB, Leroy-Somer, The Switch and Alconza generators. We are an independent shop with no affiliation to those manufacturers; brand names are used only to identify the equipment. Feasibility is confirmed with the generator nameplate.

Do you service the power converter or the turbine transformer?

No. The power converter is outside our scope; the manufacturer or the wind farm operator handles it. The step-up transformer is serviced by TEVKO, the transformer and substation division of the same group. TEMISA Power Gen works only on the electrical generator.

What do you need to quote a wind generator repair?

The generator nameplate, the wind turbine brand and model, the symptom and alarms, previous test reports, the wind farm location, and whether the generator is still in the nacelle or already on the ground. With that information we define whether an on-site inspection or shipment to the workshop applies.
