Scope starts with your equipment

Hydrogenerator maintenance concerns the electrical machine coupled to the hydraulic turbine. Design, history and condition determine the programme for windings, core, poles, connections, ventilation and excitation. TEMISA reviews scope and on-site or workshop feasibility for each unit.

01

Technical assessment

Collect the nameplate, drawings, pole count, vertical or horizontal arrangement, cooling and history. Francis, Kaplan or Pelton identify the turbine; they do not replace generator information.

02

Component-level inspection

Define access to inspect stator, supports, poles, connections and excitation. Select tests for rotor and winding construction; not every method applies to every design.

03

Refurbishment and closeout

Compare maintenance, component repair and rewinding against the assessment. Agree final tests, assembly records, outstanding items and return-to-service conditions to coordinate restart.

Documented experience

Salient-pole rotor refurbishment

Review the equipment, scope and photographs in the published service record. This reference documents that specific work; your generator assessment will determine the proposal you need.

ELCID stator core testing

Watch the stator core interlaminar insulation assessment video. Test selection and interpretation depend on generator design, history and condition.

Before scheduling service

Does this service include the hydraulic turbine?

This page concerns the generator and excitation. Runner, distributor, hydraulic governor and other turbine components require a separate scope with the relevant specialist.

Are all salient-pole rotors tested the same way?

No. Design, access, connections, insulation and history are reviewed before selecting tests. Tests and acceptance criteria must match the unit and diagnostic objective.

What can be performed at the power plant?

Inspections, selected tests and interventions are evaluated against access, dimensions, available equipment and scope. If workshop work is required, the proposal must identify the components to be moved and coordinate disassembly and transport.

Prepare your next outage

Send the nameplate and the issue

Include location, symptoms, history and available window. The proposal should define scope, deliverables, conditions and logistics.
