Industrial generator maintenance in Mexico
Make the next outage a documented technical decision. Start with the generator’s condition, service history and available intervention window.

Scope starts with your equipment
An industrial generator maintenance plan depends on its nameplate, manufacturer recommendations, duty and test history. TEMISA Power Gen evaluates inspection, maintenance, repair or rewinding scope in Mexico; the programme and logistics are agreed for each unit.
Identify the asset
Record manufacturer, model, serial number, MVA, kV, rpm, cooling and excitation. Distinguish the generator from its driving turbine or engine.
Prioritise by condition
Review insulation, temperature and vibration trends, alarms and previous findings. Comparison with historical records helps select the required inspections.
Define the outage
Agree access, disassembly, tests, spares and acceptance criteria before mobilisation. Rotor removal and rewinding are not required for every unit.
Documented experience

Review the equipment, scope and photographs in the published service record. This reference documents that specific work; your generator assessment will determine the proposal you need.

How often is major maintenance required?
There is no universal interval. Manufacturer guidance, starts, operating hours, environment and condition trends determine the programme. A sector’s operating calendar helps coordinate an outage but does not replace that assessment.
Which tests does my generator need?
Tests are selected for the design, condition and diagnostic objective. The plan must specify methods, measurement conditions and acceptance criteria; test voltages should not be selected using a blanket rule for every winding.
What should the service deliver?
Agree initial condition records, findings, completed work, comparable results and recommendations in the proposal. Return-to-service testing is defined with the plant’s responsible engineer.
Prepare your next outage
Send the nameplate and the issue
Include location, symptoms, history and available window. The proposal should define scope, deliverables, conditions and logistics.
