About our Hitachi service
Hitachi (Hitachi Energy + Hitachi Industrial Products) is a major Japanese-Swiss OEM with installed base in CFE thermal plants and Latin American industrial facilities. Acquisition of ABB's power grid business in 2020 expanded Hitachi's portfolio significantly. As an independent multi-OEM workshop, TEMISA Power Gen services Hitachi generators under IEC 60034 + IEEE 56 + EASA AR100 — international standards equivalent to those Hitachi applies in its Japanese and Swiss factories.

Are you an authorized Hitachi service representative?
No. TEMISA Power Gen is an INDEPENDENT multi-OEM workshop — not a Hitachi authorized representative. We service Hitachi generators using IEC 60034, IEEE 56/115 and EASA AR100 standards. Independent service is fully compatible once your generator is outside original OEM warranty.
Does Hitachi's acquisition of ABB power grid (2020) affect service compatibility?
It actually expands service compatibility. ABB power grid assets — including synchronous generators with UNITROL excitation, electrical testing infrastructure, and field service operations — are now part of Hitachi Energy. Our ABB UNITROL expertise applies directly to Hitachi Energy-branded equipment. The international service standards (IEC 60034, IEEE 115) remain identical between Hitachi and ABB platforms.
What Hitachi generator lines do you service?
We service the Hitachi synchronous generator range: industrial turbogenerators 100-650 MVA (cylindrical rotor + hydrogen cooling on larger units), Hitachi Energy synchronous generators 50-300 MVA (former ABB SM/SP-series with UNITROL excitation), industrial cogeneration generators 10-100 MVA. Excitation: Hitachi brushless + UNITROL inherited from ABB acquisition.
How long does Hitachi major overhaul take?
Typical timeline: 200-400 MVA Hitachi → 10-14 weeks workshop overhaul. 400-650 MVA → 14-18 weeks (especially hydrogen-cooled units). Add 4-6 weeks if stator rewind required. We coordinate hydrogen handling protocols + final IEEE 56 commissioning + CFE LAPEM W4200-12 dielectric certification for grid interconnection.
