TECHNICAL GUIDE · TEMISA POWER GEN
Will an inspection robot fit your generator?
The main air gap alone cannot confirm robotic access. A feasibility review must include the entrance between the retaining ring and stator core, end geometry and obstructions along the inspection path.

Main air gap and entrance gap are different
The main air gap lies between the rotor body and stator. The entrance gap can be smaller because the retaining ring has a different outside diameter. A measurement at the rotor body does not confirm clearance around the retaining ring.
For the proposed system, 17 mm is an entrance reference. The calculation is stator core inside diameter minus retaining ring outside diameter, divided by two. This is an initial condition, not automatic confirmation of compatibility.
Drawings and current photographs must agree
A general arrangement drawing, longitudinal section and current photographs of both ends support the initial review. The nameplate identifies the machine but does not establish the space available to mount and move the inspection system.
Core steps, fan blades, baffles, shields and other components affect access. Preparation is defined for the actual configuration and requested tests. Instructions from another machine cannot be transferred without review.
Small obstructions can affect coverage
Flux probes, sensors, cables and protruding components must be identified before mobilization. Include their slot, axial location, approximate projection and photographs with a scale reference.
The technical review determines which areas can be traversed and which limitations must be recorded in the proposal and report. Full coverage should not be promised before these interferences are known.
Information for a feasibility request
Share manufacturer, model, MVA or MW rating, site, cooling arrangement and outage window. Include core and retaining ring diameters, core length, drawings, photographs and previous inspection reports. Mark unavailable dimensions as pending.
TEMISA Power Gen coordinates specialist review to confirm access, scope, preparation and availability. Logistics and customs are also reviewed for projects outside Mexico. Documentary evaluation comes before service confirmation.
