Published case: maintenance of a BRUSH 75 MVA generator in Guatemala.

Scope starts with your equipment

Inter-harvest turbogenerator maintenance starts with electrical and mechanical history, the nameplate and the mill’s restart date. TEMISA has a published service case involving a BRUSH 75 MVA generator at a Guatemalan sugar mill. Each new intervention requires its own equipment, scope and logistics review.

01

Before the harvest ends

Collect previous tests, alarms, temperatures, vibration and operator observations. Record access restrictions and actual outage dates.

02

During the inter-harvest outage

Inspect the generator and excitation within the agreed scope. Determine whether maintenance is sufficient or repairs are required; document additional findings before expanding the intervention.

03

Before restart

Close agreed findings and review results, remaining items and restart conditions with the plant. Coordinate spares and cross-border transport when workshop work is required.

Before scheduling service

Do you assess work in Escuintla and elsewhere in Guatemala?

Projects at Guatemalan sugar mills are assessed individually. On-site feasibility, workshop transport and mobilisation are confirmed from location, nameplate, scope and outage window. Coordination starts from TEMISA’s workshop in Jalisco, Mexico.

Which work is performed on site and which requires a workshop?

Inspections and selected tests can be planned on site depending on access and conditions. Repairs requiring workshop processes are evaluated alongside disassembly, transport and schedule. The proposal should distinguish these modes of delivery.

Does this service include the steam turbine?

This proposal focuses on the electrical generator and excitation. Interfaces with the turbine, coupling and mechanical work are defined in writing with those responsible for each unit.

Prepare your next outage

Send the nameplate and the issue

Include location, symptoms, history and available window. The proposal should define scope, deliverables, conditions and logistics.
