Vestas Wind Generator Service

Independent multi-OEM workshop for Vestas wind turbine generators on V90 / V100 / V112 / V150 platforms. Generator service + power converter diagnosis + pitch system. EASA AR100 + IEC 61400 wind compliance. Mexico + Central America wind farm support.

Independent multi-OEM workshop

About our Vestas service

Vestas (Danish wind OEM, world's largest wind turbine manufacturer) has significant installed base in Mexican wind power generation — particularly in Oaxaca Tehuantepec corridor, Baja California Sur, and Tamaulipas wind farms. As wind turbines age beyond original OEM warranty (typically 5-10 years), independent service through certified workshops becomes operationally viable + cost-effective. TEMISA Power Gen services Vestas wind generators under IEC 61400 + IEEE 56 + EASA AR100 standards.

Applications

Industries we serve on Vestas

Oaxaca Tehuantepec wind corridor

Vestas turbines in 30+ wind farm installations across Oaxaca corridor — La Ventosa, La Venta, Sureste — post-warranty independent service for cost-effective operations.

Baja California Sur wind farms

Vestas turbines in BCS wind farms requiring specialized service in remote location with limited OEM support infrastructure.

Tamaulipas wind farms

Vestas wind generators in Tamaulipas wind farm projects requiring post-warranty service capability.

Wind farm operations IPP

Independent Power Producer (IPP) wind farms operating Vestas turbines post-OEM-LTSA seeking competitive operational service support.

Frequently asked questions

Are you authorized by Vestas?

No. TEMISA Power Gen is an INDEPENDENT multi-OEM workshop — not a Vestas authorized representative. Vestas operates extensive global service network through Vestas Service. For wind farms post-OEM warranty period (typically 5-10 years from commissioning), independent service through workshops applying the EASA AR100 + IEC 61400 standards becomes viable + cost-effective option. We coordinate with Vestas authorized service for specific OEM components requiring proprietary access.

Wind turbine generators are different from industrial generators — do you have specific expertise?

Yes — wind turbines use specific generator configurations different from industrial synchronous generators: (1) DFIG (Doubly-Fed Induction Generator) standard in Vestas V90 / V100 / V112 platforms — slip-ring rotor with power converter on rotor side; (2) PMSG (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator) on newer V150 platform — direct-drive without gearbox. Our team services both configurations. Wind-specific service includes: slip-ring + brush gear service, rotor coil insulation, power converter diagnosis, bearing service under API 670, blade pitch + yaw system support.

What's special about wind farm service vs land-based industrial?

Wind farm service has 4 specific challenges: (1) Height — service typically requires rope access (IRATA certified technicians) or crane positioning for top-down access; (2) Remote location — typical wind farm 100+ km from nearest service workshop requires extensive logistics planning; (3) Weather dependency — service window limited by wind speed safety thresholds; (4) Specialty components — wind-specific gearboxes + pitch systems + yaw drives require specialized expertise beyond standard industrial generator service. Cost typically 25-40% higher per service event vs equivalent land-based industrial work.

Can you do major Vestas overhaul or only field service?

We can do MAJOR field service onsite + workshop transport for major work. Field capability includes: generator visual + electrical inspection, bearing replacement onsite when feasible, brush gear service, AVR + converter diagnosis, blade root bearing inspection. For MAJOR rebuild: generator extraction from nacelle + transport to TEMISA Power Gen Tlajomulco workshop (limited capacity due to size + weight — coordinate with crane companies for nacelle access). Typical major overhaul timeline including transport: 12-18 weeks.
